Germany's RWE will not participate in the first round of the selection of companies interested in a strategic partnership with the Croatian power supply company HEP in the design, construction and management of the Plomin C thermal power plant but is willing to provide technical know-how, the RWE said on Friday.

The decision not to participate in mainly the result of adjustment in RWE's strategy regarding the structure of the European power plant portfolio and current capital restrictions.

RWE is HEP's equal partner in the Plomin 2 thermal power plant.
