Poland on Friday ratified Croatia's Treaty of Accession with the EU, whereby more that a half EU countries have ratified the agreement, Croatian Foreign and European Affairs Minister Vesna Pusic told the press.
Pusic said that to the press in Riga where she is taking part in the international conference "Riga 2012".0
This is an encouragement as there were speculations that the process would be stopped due to the interior policy in Poland," Pusic told the press. "All countries are important, but Poland is particularly important as it is the biggest country of the new-old Europe which we are also a part of," Pusic added.
The session in the Polish parliament was also attended by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski.
Pusic immediately thanked Sikorski for the ratification.
Poland is the 14th EU member states to have ratified Croatia's Accession Treaty. Croatia is scheduled to enter the bloc on 1 July 2013.
