Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor on Sunday and Monday unequivocally condemned any violence and stressed that such behaviour could not be tolerated in Croatia, the government's press office said in a statement on Tuesday evening.

The statement was prompted by statements by organisers of the Zagreb Pride gay rights march, who said that Kosor "had only distanced herself by condemning violence as such."

The government's press office rejected such statements as insinuations aimed at manipulating the public.
