Serbia's Prime Minister Ivica Dacic has said Serbia has no time to spend on early elections as they will delay the opening of its accession negotiations with the European Union and hinder the government's efforts to tackle problems such as unemployment, the state-run broadcaster (RTS) reported on Tuesday.

Dacic, leader of the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS), was quoted as saying that there would be no early elections and that this topic was not on the agenda of his talks with Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) leader.

"Elections would obstruct the opening of the negotiations with the EU and prevent the government from solving the problems such as unemployment," Dacic told reporters.

Dacic denied media speculations that his SPS party was marring plans to reshuffle the cabinet.

Deputy PM and the SNS chief Vucic has stated that the reconstruction will be carried out by 27 July.

During his visit to the eastern Bosnian town of Visegrad on Tuesday, Vucic said that this reshuffle would be conducted thoroughly or he would not take part in it.
