The Office of Croatian President Ivo Josipovic on Wednesday reported that Drago Pilsel, whom Josipovic upon his inauguration introduced to the press as the head of the Analysis Department, has expressed a wish to leave the post and work again in journalism.

"Mr. Pilsel expressed his wish to work in journalism in the future rather than in the Office of the President," reads a brief statement issued by Josipovic's office on Wednesday.

The office said that positions presented by Pilsel in his columns or in his public comments "do not reflect the views of the Office of the President of the Republic".

In his article published by the "Regional Express" web portal in Istria two days ago, Pilsel used inappropriate language in his criticism of other columnists in Croatia.

The Office of the President on Tuesday stated that views expressed by Pilsel in his column did not reflect those of the Office of the President.

Commenting on the case, Istrian Democratic Party official Damir Kajin said on Wednesday that the head of state had freedom to choose his aides and staff but that he was responsible for their behaviour, particularly when their conduct was offensive.
