Croatian Interior Minister Ranko Ostojic has said that he expects the clarification of circumstances under which people believed to be members of the Serbian underworld milieu managed to obtain Croatian passports.
"The police directorate has informed me that in cooperation with the office of the chief state prosecutor, it is nearing the solution of that case," Ostojic told reporters after the government's session on Thursday.
Asked by the press if it would also mean apprehensions, Ostojic answered in the affirmative.
Asked whether he had information if somebody from Croatian institutions had seen to it that Serbian criminals were given Croatian passports, the minister said that he could not comment on that.
Last week, Croatian documents were found with Luka Bojovic, Vladimir Milisavljevic and Sinisa Petric, who are believed to be members of the so-called Zemun clan, during their arrest in Spain. Over the recent years, Croatian documents were also found with some other people suspected of international crime.
