Serbia's Foreign Minister Ivan Mrkic has said in an interview with the Beta news agency that his country is willing to talk with Croatia about possibilities for the withdrawal of genocide lawsuits Croatia and Serbia lodged against each other with the International Court of Justice in The Hague.

According to the interview, published on Friday, the Serbian minister insisted that Serbia was sincere in intentions to develop the bilateral relations with Croatia on sound grounds and he also denied claims that Serbia's relations with its neighbours were in a stalemate.

As for the relations with Croatia, Mrkic said he had met his Croatian counterpart Vesna Pusic several times and that they were agreed to continue dialogue and to continue making efforts to settle all outstanding issues as well as to define areas where the two countries can deepen their cooperation.

"Let me be completely clear, my talks with Vesna Pusic are not only for protocol purposes ... but they are mutually sincere with the aim of building our countries' relations on sound grounds," Mrkic was quoted as saying.
