Minister of the Interior Ranko Ostojic said on Monday he believed the Gay Pride parade in Split on June 9 would not be marked by violence as it had been last year, while Split-Dalmatia county police chief Ivica Tolusic said no glass items would be allowed on tables of bars and restaurants located on the waterfront promenade Riva, the route of the Pride parade.

Ostojic said that he would participate in the parade.

"I call for respect for democracy, human rights, and the right to be different. The reason I will attend the parade is to prevent violence and I hope it will not happen," said the minister.
