Administration Minister Arsen Bauk said on Tuesday in response to the Croatian Democratic Union's (HDZ) call for a moratorium on the introduction of the use of the Cyrillic alphabet in official use in Vukovar that he was not not sure that the the idea of respect, understanding, solidarity, tolerance and dialogue meant that all of Vukovar should be excluded from the application of bilingualism.

"I would say that this was perhaps not a problem of relations between Croats and Serbs but rather Croats and Croats or the HDZ's problems with itself, the party in 2009 and the party now", said Bauk.

I believe that certain rational exceptions need to be applied to Vukovar and the law allows this, but just what those exceptions should be and to what measure is up to the city council to decide, he said.
