Croatian Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic on Wednesday held talks with Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt about the coming referendum on Croatia's EU entry and the situation in the region, the Croatian government public relations office said in a statement.
Bildt once again expressed Sweden's support to Croatia on its EU path, stressing that he hoped that the January 22 referendum would have a positive outcome.
Joining the European Union is a very strong signal to the entire Southeast Europe region, Bildt said.
Milanovic said Croatia's interests were "peace, stability and sustainability in the region," adding that Croatia would continue to support the European path of its neighbours also as a future EU member state.
