Croatia can, must and deserves much better, and this can be achieved only by the Opposition coalition, said Croatian People's Party (HNS) leader Radimir Cacic said at a news conference the party leadership held before its meeting in Zagreb on Sunday.
Cacic said that the current government showed that it was not able and did not know how to pull the country out of the crisis as the latest statistical figures about the contraction of industrial production by 4.4 per cent and of exports by 18.2 percent in the last month showed that Croatia was faring worse and worse.
HNS official Vesna Pusic said that Croatia was now in the economic, political and social crisis adding that the HNS would focus on possibilities offered by the Agenda 21 of the Opposition coalition.
Asked by reporters about the government-sponsored bill to declare certain legal acts of the former Yugoslav People's Army, the former Yugoslavia and Serbia null and void, Pusic described the draft as farcical and being only in the function of mobilising Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) supporters.
Asked whether she was satisfied with the pro-EU membership campaign in Croatia, she said that actually "there is no campaign" and that the campaign on this topic should be conducted after the parliamentary election due to the current level of communication and rhetoric in the pre-election period.
