A Pula County Court investigating judge set a 48-hour detention for Vinka Cetinski, Romina Hrvatin and Marin Sorgi, to prevent them from possible tempering with witnesses, and released another two persons -- Zeljko Bilic and Gordan Dobrovic -- arrested in the case of wrongdoings in real estate transactions in Istria.
Those five persons were brought in to the police station in Pula on Friday evening with the arrest of the 64-year-old Vinka Cetinski, a former deputy tourism minister, grabbing media attention.
During Saturday they were questioned by the investigating judge Svetislav Vukic.
The five arrestees are suspected of abuse of powers and defrauding a Pula-headquartered company of HRK 30 million, according to a police report.
Last October, businessman Danko Koncar pressed charges against Cetinski, his long-time associate and director of his firm, Kermas Ulaganja, for fraud and abuse of authority. He said that he had authorised her to buy land in Istria and that she defrauded him of 16.5 million euros.
