The head of the European Union Delegation to Croatia, Ambassador Paul Vandoren, on Friday presented the European Commission's Comprehensive Monitoring Report on Croatia to Parliament Speaker Josip Leko and to the committees for foreign affairs and European affairs and Croatian observers to the European Parliament, the Croatian parliament (Sabor) said in a statement.

Emphasising that the report was positive, the EU ambassador pointed to market competition and general rule of law as the areas where the Commission would continue its monitoring.

Sabor Speaker Leko reiterated Croatia's commitment to meeting all requirements in the run-up to the publication of the next report in the spring of 2013.

Other participants at this meeting also expressed their firm assurances that Croatia would fulfill all criteria by next spring.
