Croatian Airlines (CA) flights have been restored after disruptions caused by a large number of its cabin crew staff going on sick leave, and the national carrier plans to operate all flights according to schedule on Friday.
Since at this point there are enough cabin crew members for all flights scheduled for today, the company expects to take all passengers to their destinations without any disruptions, CA said.
CA said that a dozen cabin crew members had returned from sick leave and a few more were expected to return in the course of the day.
Within just two days 42 cabin crew staff called in sick, forcing the company to cancel a total of 15 international and five domestic flights on Wednesday and Thursday. The disruptions affected about 1,000 passengers and, according to preliminary estimates, caused the company to lose over 200,000 kuna (26,000 euros).
