The Croatian Parliament's Conflict of Interest Commission on Wednesday received a declaration of assets from Ivo Sanader, former Prime Minister and now an independent member of parliament, which includes changes in his property status that occurred in the period between his resignation as PM and his activating his term as an independent MP .
Sanader sent his declaration of assets by post, entering in it property changes that occurred between July 6, 2009, when he stepped down as PM and 22 October 2010, when he activated his mandate as a member of parliament.
The Commission published Sanader's declaration of assets on its web site, citing as one of the changes his co-ownership of three companies in which he acquired stakes by way of inheritance.
The companies in question are the Zagreb-based Alia Savjetovanje and Perbujac, in each of which Sanader and his wife Mirjana are co-owners and which are estimated at EUR 142,500, and the Prima Consulting company based in Innsbruck, Austria, in which he holds an interest of 95 percent and which is estimated at EUR 33,250.
Sanader said in his declaration of assets that upon activating his mandate as a member of parliament, he transferred the right to stakes in the three companies to a trustee, in line with the Law on the Prevention of the Conflict of Interest.
Sanader also said that since September 8, 2009 he had been receiving a net monthly salary of HRK 15,452.38 for his services as an advisor to the management of the Alia Savjetovanje company.
He said that in comparison to the summer of 2009, he had increased his savings from HRK 120,000 to HRK 281,000, and that he had an additional EUR 25,000.
Sanader also reported a new piece of real estate - a burial plot in Zagreb, and a new family income - an annual salary of $25,000 at Columbia University.
The entries in the declaration of assets that remained unchanged are, among others, the ownership of two apartments, in Split and in Zagreb, of a vineyard in Zapresic outside Zagreb, and of two cars, one of which is owned by his wife.
Sanader also said he owned moveable assets worth HRK 1.5 million.
