The Budapest Stock Exchange on Tuesday suspended trading in shares of the Hungarian oil and gas group MOL at the decision of the BSE executive director, the BSE said in a statement.

Trading was suspended at 1.15 pm until the end of the trading day, BSE said, adding that if MOL submitted the information sought before the expiry of the deadline, the suspension could be lifted sooner.

Just before suspension, MOL shares were being traded at a price 4.1 percent higher than before.

The Reuters news agency reported that Prime Minister Viktor Orban would make a statement on this topic later in the day.
