The parliamentary inquiry commission of the Austrian province of Carinthia investigating the Hypo bank case will question former Croatian prime minister Ivo Sanader in connection with that case next Wednesday, commission member Rolf Holub told Slovenian television in Klagenfurt on Thursday, adding that the commission had received the go-ahead from Vienna.
The inquiry commission said on Wednesday it wanted to interview Sanader about the Hypo case, mentioning December 22 as a possible date for the hearing.
Austrian news agency APA said earlier that the hearing would most likely be held via video link.
Sanader has been in custody in Salzburg since last Friday when he was arrested on an international warrant issued by Croatia.
Sanader is suspected by the Croatian authorities of abusing his office and powers in two cases, APA said, adding that he may also have been involved in financial wrongdoing in the Carinthian Hypo bank.
