66.70% of Croats in favour of EU entry

Preliminary results of the referendum on Croatia's accession to the European Union on Sunday show that 66.70 per cent of voters voted in favour of EU membership, while 32.72 per cent were against, the State Election Commission (DIP) said citing returns from 58.16 per cent of polling stations. The number of invalid ballots was 6,078, or 0.58 per cent.

The State Election Commission will announce preliminary results at a press conference scheduled for 2200 hours.
