Serbian President Boris Tadic has said that the 1995 Croatian military and police operation Storm is a crime that must not be forgotten, but that one must turn to the future in relations with Croatia.

Tadic made the statement on Tuesday during a meeting with a delegation of the association of the families of people killed and gone missing in Croatia.

According to a statement issued by Tadic's office, the Serbian president said that 15 years after Operation Storm one must turn to the future and solve with Croatia problems encountered by most returnee families.

Those problems refer to tenancy rights, housing reconstruction, payment of pensions, recognition of years of service, provision of housing, citizenship, and sustainable return.

Members of the delegation said they were dissatisfied that the process of exhumation was slow.

They said that around 2,100 Croatian Serbs were listed as missing.

A service for the Serb victims of Operation Storm is to be held in Belgrade's St. Mark's Church on Wednesday. Tadic is expected to attend.
