Croatian Party of Rights (HSP) president Daniel Srb said on Friday he said in today's talks with President Ivo Josipovic that the HSP was against Croatia's accession to the European Union, but that elections should be held as soon as possible.
"We feel that elections should be held as soon as possible in order to solve the problems and tensions in society, to unblock the state administration system and put it into the function of economic development, as Croatia has been in an economic as well as a governance crisis for a long time," said Srb.
Accession to the EU would do Croatia more harm than good in the economic sense, he said, adding that Croatia could rely on its own resources and generate the fastest economic development alone.
