The Slovak government on Wednesday accepted Croatia's EU Accession Treaty, the Slovak news agency TASR said in a statement.

The agency recalled the Treaty would go into force after the submission of all ratification documents, namely after the completion of the ratification process in all 27 EU members, adding that Croatia would hold a referendum about it.

In Slovakia, the ratification process includes the adoption of the Accession Treaty in parliament after which the document is to be signed by President Ivan Gasparovic.

The European Parliament is scheduled to vote on Croatia's Accession Treaty at its plenary session in Brussels on Thursday.

The document is expected to be signed on 9 December in Brussels, at an EU summit.

Croatia's EU entry is scheduled for 1 July 2013.
