Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor on Friday commented on the Serbian foreign minister's indirect criticism of the statements she made during her visit to Kosovo on Wednesday, saying that the times when Croatian prime ministers went to Belgrade to ask for advice and permission were long gone.

"Regarding some comments yesterday, I must say that some politicians, both in Croatia and in Serbia, unfortunately still don't realise, after 20 years of Croatia's independence, that the Croat people and its prime ministers will never again go to Belgrade to ask for advice or permission to do something. Those times are, fortunately, long gone," Kosor said answering questions from the press during a visit to a training centre for detection and rescue dogs in Dugo Selo outside Zagreb.

The PM would not comment on statements by Milorad Pupovac, president of the Serb National Council (SNV) in Croatia, who yesterday expressed concern about her statements in Kosovo, saying that she had already said everything she had to say on that topic.
