No incidents in Belgrade following Croatia-Serbia highly charged qualifier

No serious incidents were reported following a pulsating 1-1 draw in a highly-charged World Cup Group A qualifier between Serbia and Croatia on Friday, played under tight security amid fears of crowd trouble.

Police arrested 24 people, including a minor and pressed misdemeanour charges against 20 people for breaking chairs at the stands and lighting torches.

More than 4,000 riot and regular police were deployed in and around the 55,000-seater stadium in Belgrade where the capacity has been cut to 40,000 for security reasons.
