The parliamentary Media Committee on Thursday refused by a majority vote to discuss the proposal by the supervisory board of the public broadcaster HRT that Goran Radman be relieved of his duties as HRT director-general and that an acting director be appointed.
Instead, the Committee adopted a conclusion requesting Radman to state his opinion on the issues raised by the HRT supervisory board, including his failure to declare all his property, interference in the programming policy, an inappropriate statement at a press conference, a sexist outburst towards a female colleague, suspected irregularities in the appointment of some of the department heads and removal of the chief secretary and recording clerk from a closed session of the supervisory board so that no minutes could be taken.
Radman is supposed to state his opinion on these accusations within the next three weeks, but the Committee will not be able to discuss it before autumn because Parliament's summer recess begins next week.
