After holding consultations with leaders of parliamentary parties over the last two days, Montenegrin President Filip Vujanovic on Friday decided to propose to parliament to appoint Igor Luksic, incumbent Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister in the government of outgoing Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic, as Prime Minister-Designate.

"Having accepted the position of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) as the party with the most seats in parliament, I will propose to the Assembly today to appoint incumbent Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Igor Luksic as Prime Minister-Designate," Vujanovic told reporters, praising Luksic's performance.

Vujanovic said he expected Parliament Speaker Ranko Krivokapic to schedule a session of parliament next week so that the platform of the future PM could be presented to the public.

DPS leader Milo Djukanovic, who resigned as Prime Minister on Tuesday, said too his party was confident that Luksic's experience, competence and energy made him the right candidate to form a responsible government.
