The Chicago-based charter company Air Plus has cancelled the first direct Chicago-Zagreb-Belgrade flight scheduled for Saturday, Zagreb Airport confirmed today.

The flight was to have left Rockford airport in Michigan on Friday evening local time and landed in Zagreb at 1.40 pm and in Belgrade at 4 pm today. The return was scheduled for Sunday.

No reason was given for the cancellation but it is assumed the cause was poor passenger interest.

Air Plus has offered flights to Zagreb and Belgrade once a week from June 17 to December 29, the first direct US-Croatia flights after 20 years. For the time being, only the inaugural flight has been cancelled.
