Dalic and Rohatinski attend annual meeting of World Bank and IMF

Croatian Finance Minister Martina Dalic and National Bank (HNB) Governor Zeljko Rohatinski, who are attending the annual meeting of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington, have discussed with senior officials of the two institutions the macroeconomic situation and support for the economic development of Croatia, the Finance Ministry said in a statement on Sunday.

The Croatian delegation attended the plenary session of the World Bank's annual meeting and a meeting of the bank's Netherlands Constituency, to which Croatia belongs, and met the World Bank Vice-President for Europe and Central Asia, Philippe Le Houerou, the Director for Croatia, Peter Harold, and Executive Director Rudolf Jan Treffers.

The talks focused on the state of the existing projects of the World Bank in Croatia, the preparation of new projects, support for the economic development of Croatia, and the financing of activities in the EU accession process.

The Croatian delegation met IMF Executive Director Age Bakker and the head of the IMF Mission for Croatia, Zuzana Murgasova, for talks on the macroeconomic situation in Croatia and the implementation of the economic recovery programme aimed at overcoming the effects of the global economic crisis.

During its visit, the Finance Ministry delegation also held several bilateral meetings, including those with the Governor of the Council of Europe's Development Bank, Raphael Alomar, and representatives of the world's leading commercial banks, the statement said.
