At the end of May, the number of job seekers registered with the National Employment Service (HZZ) was 333,249, or 6.3% fewer than in April, while compared with the same period of 2012 their number was 8.9% higher, the HZZ reported on Monday.
May was the third consecutive month to see a drop in the number of job seekers on the monthly level, thanks in part to the seasonality of the Croatian labour market.
According to the HZZ, 40,744 people were struck from unemployment records in May, of whom 31,169 were hired, which was 20% more than in May 2012.
