Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansa said on Saturday that appointing a member of his cabinet to negotiate with Croatia on the Ljubljanska Banka (LB) issue was a sign that the negotiations, which are now in the final stage, were lifted to a higher level.

"The negotiations are no longer held on the level of foreign ministers but on the level of representatives of prime ministers. I have decided to appoint state secretary in my cabinet Tone Kajzer," the Slovenian news agency STA cited Jansa as saying.

Jansa also said that he agreed with Croatian Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic, whom he is scheduled to meet on 10 March, to lift the negotiations to a higher level in this final stage.
