The agreement between Serbia and Kosovo initialled in Brussels last Friday, has prompted the head of the Office for Kosovo in the Serbian Government to resign.

Aleksandar Vulin resigned on Tuesday and told Radio Television Serbia that he was quitting over his dissatisfaction with the agreement with Kosovo.

Vulin said he would officially inform Prime Minister Ivica Dacic of his resignation on Wednesday. He also asked that a referendum on the agreement be called.

The Serbian Parliament is expected to adopted the agreement on principles regulating the normalisation of relations with Pristina on Friday.

The agreement is supported by all parties of the ruling coalition. The document has been criticised the most by the Democratic party of Serbia (DSS), led by former PM Vojislav Kostunica.
