The Zagreb Pride parade, which was held in downtown Zagreb between 2 and 7 pm on Saturday, was attended by some 2,000 people and no serious incidents were reported at the event, Mirela Ban of the Zagreb Police Department told a news conference on Sunday.

Seventeen people were taken in by the police - seven of them were taken in for the purpose of establishing their identity, seven for carrying banners with inappropriate messages, including one participant in the gay parade, and three for shouting insults at participants in the parade.

The police will press misdemeanor charges against ten people for violating the laws on disturbance of the peace and on the ID card, while one person was charged with violating the law on the prevention of discrimination, said Ban.
