Croatian Prime Minister and president of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Zoran Milanovic cast his ballot on Sunday morning in the elections for the European Parliament in Croatia, saying he was confident that the turnout would be slightly higher than is customary in the European Union.
"These are the first European elections in Croatia's history and I am glad they are held on this special and separate day," the PM said.
There is never enough information when it comes to going to the polls, he said urging that information about what the European Parliament is must be constantly shared.
Asked if the messages of candidates running for the European Parliament have reached the voters, Milanovic said the messages had hard time reaching the voters also because of the media coverage. "Maybe the media are not to be blames, we have a really strange system which needs to be discussed and maybe changed because it was virtually impossible to reach the media during this campaign except by provoking serious incidents," Milanovic said.
