The European Parliament rapporteur on Bosnia-Herzegovina, Doris Pack, on Wednesday responded to what she said were Bosnian Serb leader Milorad Dodik's personal insults, saying his behaviour was harmful to all peoples in Bosnia-Herzegovina, including the Bosnian Serb entity.

Pack said in a statement that Dodik's defamatory and inappropriate behaviour was harmful to all Bosnian peoples, notably Serbs, and that by creating the false impression that she was no longer interested in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Dodik had once again revealed his political goals -- to work against all attempts to create a peaceful and prosperous future for all peoples in the region.

Pack said the fact that she took on the post of chair of the European Parliament Culture Committee and left the post of chair of the EP delegation for southeast Europe had not diminished her feelings for the region.

Dodik attacked Pack after she prepared a draft progress report on Bosnia-Herzegovina in which she said that the country required comprehensive reforms.

"As far as I know, she's not in charge of the Balkans or dealing with Bosnia-Herzegovina in that sense as well. I thank her for causing us problems and it's high time she got off our backs," Bosnian media quoted him as saying.

Pack said in her statement she would remain an active member of the delegation for southeast Europe, adding this was evidenced by the fact that she was the EP Foreign Committee rapporteur on Bosnia-Herzegovina.

She said she would not do a favour to Dodik and diminish her affection for the people of Bosnia-Herzegovina, including Bosnian Serbs, adding that the country needed politicians who were committed to working for its future.
