Zoran Milanovic was appointed to a new four-year term as president of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), receiving 23,554 votes at the party's presidential elections on Saturday, the SDP announced on its website on Tuesday.
It was the first direct ballot for SDP president, with Milanovic as the only candidate. A total of 23,733 out of 38,887 party members cast their ballots, or 61.03%, and 179 ballots were declared invalid. The elections were held at 529 polling stations throughout the country.
