Children of Croatian soldiers killed in the Homeland War unveiled a monument to Operation Storm '95 in the central square of the southern town of Knin on Thursday evening.

A total of 16 children took part in the unveiling ceremony, symbolising the 16th anniversary of the military and police Operation Storm.

In their addresses, President Ivo Josipovic, Parliament Speaker Luka Bebic and Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor said the monument would remain a sign of remembering Croatia's victory in the Homeland war and Operation Storm which, as all three of them said, was one of the most important events in Croatia's history.

The monument Operation Storm '95 is the work of sculptor Petar Dolic. The architectural solution was provided by architect Tonko Zaninovic. The monument, worth HRK 6 million, is built in the shape of the letter "V" (Victory).
