World Cup leader Ivica Kostelic of Croatia continued his amazing Alpine skiing season by winning the Wengen slalom on Sunday, extending his lead in the FIS alpine skiing overall standings.

This is his second victory of the weekend and fourth this year.

Kostelic, who won Friday's super combined, finished nearly a second ahead of his nearest rivals.

Austria's Marcel Hirscher was second and Frenchman Jean-Baptiste Grange was third.

Slalom specialist Kostelic stayed top of the overall World Cup standings. With 100 race points for the victory, Kostelic now holds a 215-point advantage on Aksel Lund Svindal of Norway in the overall standings.

Kostelic also won last weekend's slalom race in Adelboden, Switzerland, and is ranked No. 1 in that discipline as well. On Jan. 2 in Munich, he picked up his first victory of the season by taking one of the newly added parallel slalom events.
