Seven Croatian publishing companies will be given this year nearly 300,000 euros from the European Union's "Culture 2007-2013" programme for translations of works of European literature into Croatia and for the translation of 11 works of contemporary Croatian authors, the Culture Ministry said in a press release on Wednesday.
The support will be awarded to seven publishers: Fraktura, Disput, OceanMore, Sandorf, Fibra, Vukovic&Runjic and Ljevak for the translation of a total of 51 titles.
Works of Croatian authors Miljenko Jergovic, Dubravka Ugresic, Tatjana Gromaca. Ivana Sojat-Kuci, Mirko Kovac, Vedrana Rudan, Lada Zigo and Olja Savicevic Ivancevic will be translated into some of European languages, under this programme.
