20,000 apply to vote outside place of residence in EU referendum

According to data from the Administration Ministry, a total of 20,113 Croatian citizens have applied to vote outside their place of residence in the January 22 referendum on Croatia's accession to the European Union, Administration Minister Arsen Bauk said on his Facebook profile on Sunday.

Of those 20,113 citizens, 4,175 are people serving prison sentences, 942 are people who work as ship crew, and 100 are members of the Armed Forces.

The deadline until which voters could register to vote outside their place of residence expired on Saturday, January 7.
