The 18th contingent of Croatian troops left for Afghanistan on Thursday to join the NATO-led ISAF peace mission there.
The 312-strong contingent was accompanied by six servicemen from member countries of the American-Adriatic Charter -- two from Montenegro, three from Macedonia and one from Albania -- and by four Croatian police officers.
They will be deployed to the Regional Command North in Mazar-e Sharif and the Regional Command in Kabul where they will take over from the 17th contingent.
Croatia has been participating in the ISAF mission since 2003.
