Not even two terms in office are sufficient to achieve an "A" credit rating, Finance Minister Slavko Linic said after the government session on Thursday.
Linic said this answering a reporter's question about when Croatia could achieve the wanted credit rating, given that Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic said yesterday that when the time comes for him to leave the government he wanted it to be in good circumstances when Croatia will have a higher credit rating, namely a credit rating starting with an "A".
Linic said that "the destroyed economy needed to be consolidated" and its competitiveness needed to be raised. He said that Croatia needed to achieve the European GDP growth rate, start paying back loans and resolve transition problems.
"The number of those retired is too high in relation to the number of the employed," Linic said adding that "not even two government mandates were sufficient to achieve that."
