The Croatian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Vesna Pusic, said in Brussels on Monday that it was inappropriate to speak of a Slovenian blockade and that she did not expect any blockade of the ratification of Croatia's EU accession treaty.

"I don't think it's appropriate to speak of a blockade and I don't expect any blockade. I expect that our accession treaty will be ratified by all member states," Pusic said in Brussels where she was attending, as an observer, a meeting of EU foreign ministers.

Pusic said she did not have a bilateral meeting with her Slovenian counterpart Karl Erjavec and that there was nothing new in relation to their statements made a month ago.

Erjavec said on Monday morning, on arriving at the EU ministerial meeting, that resolution of the Ljubljanska Banka issue was a requirement for the ratification of Croatia's EU accession treaty by the Slovenian parliament.
