Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic on Thursday asked the Croatian public for a little patience over the next few days when consultations should be conducted on the dispute relating to the implementation of the European Arrest Warrant and promised that after that a decision would be made that "will be good for Croatia."
At the start of a cabinet meeting in Zagreb, Milanovic said that this government was not jeopardising or gambling with national interests. He called on the public to show trust in his cabinet.
"Let us have a few more days for consultations with our partners, the (European Union) member-states and the European Commission, of course, as one of the stakeholders in this process. Let us draw some conclusions and make a good decision for Croatia," Milanovic said. "Let us be patient a little more," he added.
He said that the European Socialists were supporting the Croatian government, while the European People's Party (EPP) was saying something different. This shows that "the truth is on slippery ground," the Croatian premier said.
