Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) leader Jadranka Kosor said on Saturday evening that there were indications that apart from candidates who had announced their intention to run for HDZ president, more party members would run for that post in forthcoming intra-party elections, but she would not reveal the new candidates' names.
"It's good that new space is being created and we will elect, in intra-party elections to last about three months, not only the party president but also the party leadership, the Presidency, and party vice-presidents," Kosor, a former Prime Minister, said in an interview with the RTL commercial broadcaster.
Asked if her decision to invite into her government people who were now her rivals, she said that she had done so in an attempt to strengthen her government's economic potential. It's about some people having a feeling of responsibility and loyalty, and some not having it, she said.
Kosor confirmed that her platform as a candidate for HDZ president would be supported by HDZ vice-president Vladimir Seks.
