The International Court of Justice will issue on July 22 an advisory opinion on the legality of Kosovo's unilateral proclamation of independence from Serbia, the court said on Wednesday.
Serbia, Kosovo and 29 other states, including the US, Russia and Croatia, took part between November 1-11, 2009 in a hearing requested by the UN General Assembly at Serbia's demand.
Serbia claims that the unilateral proclamation of Kosovo's independence undermined the foundations of the international legal order, the French news agency AFP said.
The ICJ's opinion is not binding.
Kosovo declared independence on 17 February 2008. It has been recognised by 69 states, including 22 European Union members. Belgrade still considers Kosovo a Serbian province.
