The trial in the Fimi Media case continued on Tuesday with the reading of documents from the case file with which the national anti-corruption office USKOK aims to prove that the accused, including former prime minister Ivo Sanader and his former party HDZ, used the privately-owned marketing firm Fimi Media to siphon about 70 million kuna (9.3 million euros) from state companies and institutions into the party's slush fund.

The documents included data from the bank accounts of Sanader and his family, which have been frozen on suspicion that they illegally acquired about 15 million kuna (2 million euros) in this case alone.

Since the court has to go through more than 14,000 various documents, witness hearings are expected to start on June 18.
