Borovec said earlier in the day that Rakar had been arrested this afternoon in connection with the publication of the Homeland War Veterans Register on the Internet. He declined to reveal any other details, except that Rakar had come to the police on his own and that the police were interviewing all those to whom the register was available.

Vitomir Bijelic, Chief of the Criminal Investigation Department, said in a Croatian Television current affairs talk show in the evening that Rakar had been detained until the police searched his apartment for fear that he might destroy the evidence important to this case.
