Environment Minister Mihael Zmajlovic said on Saturday that he had no doubts that the lawsuit in the case of a golf course on the plateau of Srdj hill overlooking Dubrovnik would end in his ministry's favour.

The lawsuit was filed with the Administrative Court in Split on Friday by the civil society organisation Green Action, the Srdj Is Ours initiative and the Croatian Architects' Association which demanded that the decision on the acceptability of the Srdj golf course project from the point of view of environmental protection be declared null and void.

"The decision was made in accordance with the law and the highest standards of environment and nature protection, and I signed it as such. I have no doubts that the lawsuit will end in the ministry's favour," Zmajlovic told the press during the Green Cleanup campaign in a wood in an eastern suburb of Zagreb.

Enes Cerimagic of Green Action told the press outside the Split court on Friday that they would prove before the court that "excessive development on the Srdj plateau" was in violation of the law.
