Serbian President Boris Tadic on Saturday once again accused Croatian President Stjepan Mesic over his clemency towards convict Sinisa Rimac and his visit to Kosovo.

Tadic said in Banja Luka that Mesic's move regarding Rimac was actually acrime as he had granted clemency to a criminal responsible, among other things, for the murder of a little girl.

"The judiciary of a country in which something like that is possibleloses legitimacy. I expect the bodies of the Republic of Croatia, with whichSerbia wants the best relations possible, to re-examine such a decision,"said Tadic.

He added it was especially unacceptable that the Kosovo authorities haddecorated Mesic immediately after his pardon of Rimac.

Mesic granted Rimac clemency yesterday. Rimac was a former police reservist.Mesic reduced by one year the eight-year prison sentence Rimac was given over amurder in the Pakracka Poljana war crimes case.

"Tadic knows very well that you don't grant clemency over what someonedid and was convicted of, but over circumstances. Since Tadic knows very wellwhat this is about, such criticism doesn't excite me, because he is making itfor domestic purposes," Mesic said visiting Janjevo, Kosovo, on Friday.

"That isn't a pardon, but a reduction of the sentence," Mesic saidin response to the criticism Tadic made in Belgrade on Friday.
