The Social Democratic Party (SDP) on Wednesday downsized its estimates on how much it would spend on costs for the forthcoming local elections to about 8.5 million kuna after reporting on Tuesday that it would spend around 11- 12 million kuna at all levels in the local elections, set for 19 May.
"The Social Democratic Party of Croatia has so far deposited HRK 7.2 million into 476 bank accounts for local representative bodies and 400 accounts for candidates competing for county prefects, mayors and prefects and it is estimated that all up, due to some candidates competing in a second run-up, the SDP will spend around 8.5 million kuna, the party's secretary-general, Igor Dragovan told the press.
He said that the information released yesterday was an administrative error as some regular party costs had been included in the campaign costs.
