Earlier on Friday, the European Commission proposed to the EU Council of Ministers to close the remaining four policy chapters in Croatia's European Union accession negotiations, paving the way for Croatia to become the 28th member of the European bloc on 1 July 2013.
Pusic said that this was the Commission's opinion on Croatia's fulfillment of conditions and readiness to complete the negotiations.
The final political decision on the conclusion of the negotiations should be made at the European Council's summit meeting on 24 June, she said, adding that the negotiations should be wrapped up by the end of June.
Pusic believes that the biggest advantage of EU membership is long-term stability.
After experiencing war, Croatia, with a higher level of awareness of peace and stability, can contribute to reinvigorating the fundamental values of the EU, she added.
The biggest danger would be not to use the possibilities stemming from EU membership, she added.
